Fat shaming is not a myth.

So I need to talk about this, not because I am hurt by what happened but to show you that fatshaming is not a myth. It is in fact something that just happens every day, and today it caught me in a pretty unexpected moment.

Well I was trying to buy tickets for a concert online, the side crashed over and over again and things went wrong. I got a little frustrated and so I posted something on the facebookpage of the shop that sold the tickets. And I got an unexpected comment from someone else.

I posted my complain and than someone else (not from the shop, just someone who saw it) commented with: "Fat people don't fit through the door, it's logical isn't it"

It wasn't even nasty and I just laughed at it, shared it with some friends and pretty soon someone else posted something saying how stupid this guy was. So it didn't really effect me nor did it hurt but. But never the less this it something that should not be okay! Just because I am fat I am not allowed to complain about having trouble getting tickets? Their whole FB page was full of people complaining. This is what I would call "thin privilege" It is a thing privilage to post something without in the end narrowing it down on my body type. He implyed that because I was to fat to get through the door aka. enter the online shop or maybe even the door of the club where the concert takes place. I don't really know what he thought at that moment, cause no matter who you turn it this comment is bloody stupid and doesn't even make sence. But the thing that really pissed me off it the fact, that someone see my pictures, sees that I am fat and even if he is in the same boat as I am, wanting to go to a certain concert and not getting the damn tickets, he decided to let out his anger by insulting someone who doesn't fit into his personal norm of how people should look like.

There really is no need to talk about the problems he himself might have or to search for a reason, neither is is any good do try to talk to him. But what I want to address with this post is, that thin privilage is real, That body shaming is real and that unreasonable fat hate is real!

As you know, I am a form believer of seeing this optimistic, not being scared of the hate and just don't give a fuck. I usually try not to think about what people could think about me, say to me or do to me, cause I leaned that the more though I give the negativity the more I attract the negative stuff. But at moments like this I just can't shut up and not care. I do care, cause I know there are people out there who aren't as easy going as me, Who can be deeply effected by a stupid comment like this. And it makes me sad and angry that people care so less about what others could feel in moments like this. They don't see that behind that icon, behind that profile there is a human being with emotions. What really gets me is, that maybe he didn't even notice that, because society told us it is okay to hate on fat people. Are we really so deeply infected by stereotype that certain things like body type, race, hair color makes dehumanize people and makes it okay to make them a target of hate? Seem so.
